Hi all,
Alrighty, as you've begun to build your homes with a partner, you may have started to think about process.
Process is something frequently overlooked in development, but really, it's what separates the good projects from the amazing ones.
So, here's what I'd like you to do. By Friday come up with 10 principles that should govern your building with a team in Second Life.
Yes, your lists might look drastically different, but we will go over them together and see what kinds of principles we think should govern us as a class. Publish your list by posting a comment to this blog post.

This is from J.R. Bowman and Jaleh:
1. Make sure that all objects can be modified by your partner!
2. Use the SL grid
3. If you don't know how to build something, Google it.
4. Mouselook is your new best friend.
5. Use as few prims as possible.
6. Learn the transform shortcut keys.
7. Textures can turn a boring prim into an awesome one.
8. Don't forget to save (take a copy) whenever important changes are made.
9. Scripts are so cool!
10. If it exists in real life, you can build it in Second Life.
This is J. P.
1. Always position your prim in the closest x,y,z position.
2. Build by numbers, use the grid system.
3. alt+zoom, alt+zoom, alt+zoom.
4. Learn your shortcuts to resize, rotate, and move.
5. Drag textures from your inventory.
6. Learn about repeats per face.
7. Use shift+drag to quickly copy and object.
8. When working with rotations and you want to move something, know the difference between local and world coords.
9. Take your time, it can get glitchy at times.
10. The simple square prim is the easiest to distort to the craziest things you want.
From Cody Curtis:
1)get permission right or they will bite you right in the rear.
2) good control/alt/zoom skills with make things go way faster.
3)use the grid when building and use some kind of pin system for aligning parts that can't be easily linked.
4)communicate very well on the responsibilities of the teammates and deadlines.
5)get a rough design or layout on paper before building in SL.
6)work towards team members strengths.
7)expect things to get screwed up repeatedly.
8)building by numbers can be very efficient.
9)question if you really need that many prims.
10)save often.
